Case Study I am Progrez

Company Purpose

I am Progrez is an organisation in The Netherlands which aims to help people and organisations to develop optimally and to be ready for the future (whatever it looks like). Their technology facilitates this through next-generation assessments in which soft skills, future job skills and 21st-century skills are measured and made visible to both people and organisations. I am Progrez measures soft skills, characteristics and interpersonal competences through a gamified questionnaire, in addition to filtering skills from the gaming history of a person. They use a self-made taxonomy consisting of +/- 52 micro-characteristics and 44 meso- practices.

Badging Purpose

At present, I am Progrez recognise the need for an unambiguous language which is connected to the ever-changing labour market and can stay updated with actual trends. This is also a relevant topic for employers themselves; how to recruit people and how to make them stay. Organisations need to focus on staff development and re-skilling within the organisation. Soft skills are important in this and I am Progrez sees one of the main benefits of digital badges to be the possibility of matching job-seekers with employers.

Need

I am Progrez would be interested in using a common (National / European) taxonomy if their customers were interested in this. If there is demand, they will follow, but they would like to use a skills taxonomy which is not too big, vague or conceptually confusing.
